Relevance: The reason why I chose this song is because I like the beat. It's a song that you can bop your head to, and it reminds me of my childhood because I grew up with music around me.

This article talks about a great African-American man of writing, Arthur P. Davis who inspired many black writers of all ages. His intelligence was admired by many, and shared with his students as an English professor at Howard University where he taught at from 1944 to 1980. He co-editted an honored piece of work entitled "The Negro Caravan: Writing by American Negroes" published in 1941. When he was young he got to meet W.E.B. Du Bois, Paul Robeson, Langston Hughes and a few others who he was inspired by. Arthur sadly died at the age of 91, a few days before this article was published, but even though he has passed away his amazing writing pieces will always remain for us to remember him by.
